Currants

Currants originally come from Greece, which remains the main producer. We distinguish three varieties: Vostizza, Gulf and Provincials — each from a different region. The Netherlands is a major buyer of Gulf currants because of their firm skin and good processability. Klaas de Poel has been importing currants from the Korinthos region for over 65 years. All suppliers work in accordance with HACCP and BRC standards.

Raisins

Raisins are produced across the world — from Chile and South Africa to Greece, Turkey and California. The Dutch bakery industry mainly uses Turkish sultanas. Our specialists visit the producing countries regularly to monitor quality. With more than 65 years of experience, we know our products and processes inside out.
